About this site

Last updated 13 September 2026

BodyPal is a calorie and nutrition app, and this site is the reference library that sits beside it. Everything here is published by Vancko Systems Ltd, the company that builds the app.

What this site is

Two things. A catalogue of food pages, each giving the calories and nutrients of one food per 100 g and per the portion people actually eat. And a set of free calculators that turn those numbers into something you can act on: what you burn in a day, what an hour of exercise costs, what a recipe works out at per serving.

You do not need the app to use any of it. Nothing on this site asks you to register, and the calculators run entirely in your browser — the numbers you type are never sent to us.

Where the numbers come from

Each page names the source it used. If we cannot find a number in a source we trust, we leave the field empty rather than estimate it. How we check is set out in our methodology and editorial policy.

What we are not

We are not dietitians, and nothing here is medical advice. We publish the numbers and say where they came from, so you can check them yourself. For advice about your own health, diet or medication, speak to your GP or a registered dietitian.

How we make money

From subscriptions to the app. This site carries no advertising and no paid placements, and we are not paid by any food manufacturer or retailer. We name brands on some pages because people search for them, not because anyone pays us to. That is also the obvious conflict to declare: we publish this library partly because it brings people to an app we sell. You should read the numbers knowing that, and check them against the sources we cite.
