Is YAZIO free? YAZIO PRO cost in 2026

By BodyPal Team · Published October 13, 2026 · Prices checked October 13, 2026

YAZIO app screenshots from October 2026: the PRO paywall with 12 months at 38.34 EUR (crossed-out 92.00 EUR, 3.20 EUR per month) and 3 months at 23.00 EUR, the Pro features screen, and the free diary with calories and macros

Real screens from the YAZIO Android app, EU store, October 13, 2026. US prices below come from the US App Store listing.

YAZIO is free to use, with ads, for as long as you like: a personalized calorie goal, a food diary with calories and macros, barcode scanning, water and weight tracking and basic intermittent fasting. YAZIO PRO is listed at $47.90 for 12 months in the US App Store (about $3.99 a month), with a 3-month plan at $23.99. What makes YAZIO different is the paywall: it shows a personalized first-year offer next to a crossed-out list price. On October 13, 2026 ours read 38,34 € instead of 92,00 €, or 3,20 € a month. PRO adds AI photo tracking, recipes and meal planning, flexible weekend and fasting targets, micronutrients and no ads. Every number here comes from the App Store listings and the in-app paywall, checked on October 13, 2026.

YAZIO pricing at a glance (October 2026)

Want photo logging without the first-year pricing games? BodyPal's free plan has no ads, keeps barcode scanning unlimited, and includes one AI photo scan, one label scan and one AI text search every day. Unlimited scans cost $29.99/year or $7.99/month, the same price in year one and year five.

Full disclosure: BodyPal is our own calorie-tracking app. The YAZIO facts on this page are quoted from the App Store listings and from screens we took inside the app, with dates, so you can verify every one of them. Where YAZIO is the better pick, we say so.

Drag the slider to see what PRO adds up to at the $47.90 list price, on a typical half-price first year followed by list price, and what the same period costs with BodyPal. US list prices, no student discount applied.

YAZIO PRO with a half-price first year ($23.90, then $47.90)$119.70

BodyPal Premium ($29.99/year)$89.97

Over 3 years, the first-year offer saves $24.00 against list price; the 3-month plans cost twice as much as paying yearly.

Is YAZIO free? What the free version actually includes

Yes, and the free diary is more generous than many people expect from an app with such a prominent PRO tab. On our free account the Today screen showed a calorie goal (1,435 kcal remaining), a carbs, protein and fat breakdown in grams (0 / 175 g, 0 / 70 g, 0 / 46 g), four meal slots with suggested calories per meal, water and weight tracking, and a streak counter. Searching the database, scanning barcodes and logging by name all work without paying.

Two limits define the free experience. First, ads: the free version shows them, and "Stay focused with no ads" is the first line of the PRO benefits list. Second, the smart features are PRO: AI photo tracking, the recipe library, planning meals ahead, weekend and custom fasting targets, weekly and monthly insights, personalized meal tips and micronutrient details. The free app counts calories well; PRO is where YAZIO tells you what to eat.

How much does YAZIO PRO cost?

YAZIO sells PRO as prepaid periods, not a rolling monthly subscription. The US App Store listing shows the standard plans and several offer variants side by side; the ones that matter are below.

The crossed-out price: how YAZIO's first-year offers work

This is the part most pricing articles get wrong. The YAZIO paywall almost never shows the list price alone. Ours, on October 13, 2026, showed "12 months 92,00 € 38,34 €, 3,20 €/month, Most popular" and "3 months 23,00 €, 7,67 €/month", with "Cancel anytime" underneath. Three things to understand:

💡 The "per month" line is the honest one Compare paywalls by the effective monthly figure: 3,20 €/month (38,34 € / 12) versus 7,67 €/month (23,00 € / 3). YAZIO prints both, which is clearer than most apps. Just remember that 3,20 € is the first-year rate.

YAZIO price by country

YAZIO is a German company and its App Store listings differ noticeably by country. The US and French figures are the standard 12-month purchases in each store's listing on October 13, 2026; the German listing shows a higher list anchor; the euro-zone paywall is the one we photographed.

🇫🇷 France47,90 € list; offers at 23,90 €23,99 €App Store in-app purchase list, Oct 13, 2026

Read the German row carefully: the 83,90 € figure is the anchor that German users see crossed out, while the offers that actually sell are 35,90 € and 23,90 €. In France the standard 12-month plan is 47,90 €, the same number as the US price in dollars. Whatever your country, the amount on the paywall's offer line is what you pay for the first period, and your subscription settings show what you pay after that.

YAZIO free vs PRO: what is locked

Trial, renewal and how to cancel YAZIO PRO

The paywall we checked offered no free trial; it offered a discounted first year with "Cancel anytime" under the plans. YAZIO has run 7-day trials in the past, so you may see one, but do not plan around it. What to do:

  1. Screenshot the paywall. It is the only place the offer price is shown next to the anchor. You will want it if the renewal amount surprises you.
  2. Check the renewal price right after buying. iPhone: Settings → your name → Subscriptions → YAZIO. Android: Google Play → profile → Payments & subscriptions → Subscriptions → YAZIO. The amount shown there is what you pay when the period ends.
  3. Cancel in the store, at least 24 hours before the period ends. Cancelling keeps PRO until the paid period runs out; it does not refund the current period.

How YAZIO pricing compares with other calorie apps

At its $47.90 list price, YAZIO PRO is one of the cheaper annual plans among mainstream trackers, and the first-year offers make it cheaper still. The catch is that the offer price is temporary; the chart uses list prices so the apps are compared on the same basis.

YAZIO discounts: how to pay less for PRO

Is YAZIO PRO worth it? Who should pay, who should not

PRO makes sense if: you want the app to plan meals, not just count them: the recipe library, meal planning ahead and personalized meal tips are the heart of PRO; you follow intermittent fasting with custom schedules; you want weekend calorie flexibility; or the ads bother you. At a first-year offer in the $24 to $38 range, PRO is one of the cheapest ways to get a recipe-driven plan.

Stay on Free if: you log by search and barcode, you want calories and macros and nothing more, and a banner ad is tolerable. YAZIO's free diary already shows macros in grams, which MyFitnessPal reserves for Premium.

Think twice if: photo logging is the feature you are paying for. "Snap a photo to track" is a PRO add-on inside a recipe-first app; an app built around scanning will be faster for that one job, and its price will not double in year two.

YAZIO vs BodyPal: the price and free-tier comparison

Since we make BodyPal, here is the comparison as plainly as we can put it. YAZIO has a much larger recipe library, meal plans, a fasting tracker and strong European food data. BodyPal is built around AI photo logging with a verified 3M+ food database, has no ads at all, and charges the same price in year one and year five.

Frequently asked questions

Is YAZIO free?

Yes. The free version has no time limit: calorie goal, diary with macros in grams, barcode scanning, water and weight tracking and basic fasting, with ads. Photo tracking, recipes, planning ahead, weekend targets, custom fasting and micronutrients need PRO.

How much does YAZIO PRO cost?

The standard 12-month plan is $47.90 in the US App Store, the 3-month plan $23.99. The paywall usually shows a personalized first-year offer; ours was 38,34 € instead of a crossed-out 92,00 €. Expect about $24 to $48 for year one.

How much is YAZIO PRO per month?

About $3.99 a month on the 12-month list price, 3,20 € a month on the offer we saw, or 7,67 € a month on the 3-month plan. There was no true month-to-month plan on the paywall we checked.

Why does YAZIO show a crossed-out price?

It is an anchor for a personalized first-year offer. The offer price buys the first 12 months; the renewal price is the one in your App Store or Google Play subscription settings.

Does YAZIO have a free trial?

Not on the paywall we checked, which offered a discounted first year with "Cancel anytime". YAZIO has run 7-day trials before; whether you get one depends on the offer assigned to your account.

Is the YAZIO barcode scanner free?

Yes. Barcode scanning is part of the free diary, unlike MyFitnessPal and Lose It!, which charge for it.

Does YAZIO PRO have a student discount?

Yes, 40% off PRO through Student Beans in the US. It is the only published discount beyond the first-year offers.

Is there a cheaper alternative to YAZIO PRO?

BodyPal: no ads on the free plan, unlimited barcodes, one AI photo scan a day free, and Premium at $29.99 a year or $7.99 a month, with no first-year-only pricing.
